Set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), sometimes also called Two Factor Authentication (2FA) is an enhanced way to access your University IT account. It requires you to use additional "factors" to authenticate your access and log in. We will refer to it as MFA in communications at our University.
Ensure you have enough time to complete the set up instructions, as it is expected it will take you around 10-15 minutes
Which device do you want to set up?
You will require a mobile phone or tablet📱 to register for MFA. You will need this device in future to sign in to services when you are away from campus.
We recommend using the Microsoft Authenticator app to set up MFA, as this is the most secure method. We also suggest adding a secondary option, such as text message or phone call verification so you have an alternative option should the Authenticator app be unavailable when you are signing in.
